In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has rapidly advanced, and its impact is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. A presentation I recently watched discussed exciting developments such as brain implants and predictive AI systems, where technology observes human behavior and makes suggestions on what to do next to improve one’s life. The presenter suggested that these innovations represent the pinnacle of what we can hope for in the near future. However, as I listened to this, it dawned on me that Christians have access to something far superior: the guidance of God.
Unlike AI, which can make guesses and suggestions based on data, God knows the future in its entirety. He doesn’t rely on guesses; He already sees every outcome and knows the perfect path for each individual. God’s desire is to guide us, but He won’t intervene unless we give Him permission. This is a stark contrast to AI, which operates autonomously, making decisions based on algorithms without seeking consent. God, however, desires a relationship with us and wants us to choose to follow His lead, which when boiled down means, trust and obey.
God’s guidance is not just about efficiency or productivity; it’s about our well-being, our happiness, and the well-being of those around us. While AI can analyze data and make suggestions, it lacks the personal touch, love, and wisdom that God provides. AI may be able to help us make decisions, but it can never truly understand us in the way that God does. God knows our hearts, our desires, and our unique needs. He sees beyond the surface and has a plan for our lives that is greater than anything AI could predict.

AI also lacks the compassion that comes with divine guidance. While it may provide useful suggestions based on patterns, it doesn’t care about us in the way God does. God’s guidance is always for our ultimate good. It is rooted in love and care, both for us and for those around us. His wisdom isn’t limited by data, algorithms, or human limitations—it is boundless.
Furthermore, while AI is restricted by the data it processes, God’s wisdom transcends time and space. He knows not only our present situation but also the eternal implications of the decisions we make. AI can never match this level of understanding. When we allow God to guide us, we are aligning ourselves with a higher purpose—one that surpasses any human-made technology.
Ultimately, while AI may change the world, it will never come close to the wisdom, love, and understanding that God will use to change the world. God is not simply a tool to improve our lives—He is a relational guide who desires to help us live fully, purposefully, and in alignment with His plan. All He asks is that we trust Him, love Him, and obey. No matter how advanced AI becomes, it will never match the infinite wisdom and perfect love of God. And that is a gift far greater than anything AI can offer.

As we look to the future, it's clear that while AI may continue to offer advancements in convenience and predictions, it will never be able to replace the perfect guidance and love that God offers. Now, I invite you to take a step towards allowing God’s guidance in your life. Tell God today that you are open to Him directing your steps. Let Him know that you trust Him enough to guide you, even if it means changing your desires or adjusting your path to protect you from harm. His love is so great that He will lead you away from choices that could hurt you, even if they seem good in the moment. Trust that He knows the way forward, and allow Him to change your wants, because His plans for you are filled with peace, joy, and purpose.
